A Case Report of Surgical Correction of mandibular Prognathism Including Midfacial Underdevelopment by Le Fort Ⅲ Osteotomy and Sagittal Split Osteotomy

Abstract
|
|
|
This is a case report of mandibular prognathism including midfacial underdevelopment corrected by by Le Fort III osteomy with rhnoplasty and sagittal split ramus osteotomy and postoperative orthodontic treatment.
1. Clinical evaluation, cephalometric analysis and model analysis to a diagnosis of mandibular prognathism including midfacial underdevelopment.
2. The bilateral mandibular prognathism including midfacial underdevelopment is corrected esthetically and functionally by le fort III osteotomy with rhinoplasty and sagittal split ramus ostectomy and postoperative orthoddontic treatment.
3. the osteotomy was done on maxilla, zygoma, frontal bone and nasal bone from nasofrontal suture to lateral orbital wall and pterygomaxillary fissure.
4. Bone segments taken from calvarial bone were grafted between lateral orbital rim and wall and advanced facial fragment.
5. the advanced midfacial segment and distal segment were fixed by used of miniplated and immobilized by intermaxillary fixations for 4 weeks.
6. The prognosis was good without any complications but was presented relations but was relapse.
